 Harry Calivas, CFP®

Associate Vice President – Investments

 

Harry Calivas has an extensive and diversified business background with more than 25 years of business experience.  He has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional since 1986 and holds the Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 registrations, as well as Life, Health and Disability insurance licenses.

 

His mission is to consistently achieve complete client satisfaction through his detailed attention as well as comprehensive and holistic approach to servicing each client’s needs.

 

Harry earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. He joined Prudential Securities (now Wachovia Securities, LLC) in July 2001.

 

His former affiliations include employment with both large and small publicly and privately held corporations where his responsibilities have included accountability for profit and loss, oversight of multi-million dollar projects/contracts/product lines, managing financial matters and playing an integral part in maintaining client relationships through customer satisfaction achievement. Harry’s extensive qualifications, tremendous work ethic, and background are used to guide the strategies he presents to his clients.

   

The industries in which Harry has gained extensive knowledge and experience include: aerospace, defense, electronics, mass transportation, communications, and microelectronics.  Because of his background, not only does Harry provide detailed analysis of investments, based on industry research using quantitative and qualitative data, he brings a working knowledge of these industries that very few financial advisors can provide.

 

Harry is a member of the Certified Financial Planner board of Standards, Inc., the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council and the National Contracts Management Association. In addition, he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certificant.

 

When not working hard to meet the needs of his clients, Harry enjoys spending time with his wife, Karen, and his two sons, David and Michael.

 

 

Gregory Grabiec

Financial Advisor

 

Gregory Grabiec serves as a financial advisor and research coordinator for the Calivas & Grabiec Financial Solutions Group of Wachovia Securities.

 

He earned a Master of International Management degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he was a full-tuition Presidential Scholar, and received a MBA in Finance from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from the Honors College of the University of Houston.  He also holds the Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 registrations, as well as Life, Health and Disability insurance licenses.

 

Mr. Grabiec brings to the team over a decade of professional experience in strategic business analysis, competitive intelligence, and cross-cultural communications.  His past research pursuits spanned a wide range of disciplines and industries. In the healthcare sciences field, he has conducted genetics laboratory research, clinical cancer research, and managed a competitive intelligence initiative for a major pharmaceutical firm. He has conducted studies on the global and regional impact of outsourcing and off-shoring in the information technology sector of Central Europe. While with United Way, Gregory was a leader in the design and implementation of community and technology assessments in the private foundation and nonprofit sectors. Through these efforts, he has advised senior executives and boards of directors in the philanthropic investment of over $200 million dollars. 

 

His civic leadership includes past Treasurer and Board Member of the Texas Economic and Demographic Association, Board Member of the Honors College Alumni Association, and volunteer at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Center for the Retarded. He is a member of Toastmasters International and is a Deputy Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

 

Gregory shares his life with his wife, Adrianna, a classical pianist and mother of their daughters, Stefania and Maja. Adrianna and Gregory got married in their hometown of Katowice, Poland, in 2003 and now call Glendale, Arizona home. As a family, the Grabiec’s enjoy making music, cooking and entertaining together, performing in theatre productions, chronicling the joys of family through photography, discovering the world’s wonders through travel, and teaching their girls to speak Polish.
